The Art Bakery is a small illustration studio and online shop that creates things for everyday use; things that are simply meant to please and add a little charm to your surroundings. Here you’ll find stickers, prints, pins, postcards, and bags, with the selection growing and changing over time, together with us.
We focus on quality, thoughtful production, and working on a smaller scale. We’d rather reach a few people who truly feel our vibe than produce everything in bulk or take shortcuts. What matters to us are ethical choices, creating with respect for people and the environment, authenticity and making sure that every single thing that reaches your hands is perfectly baked.

Let's start from the beginning - that is, with me. I don't want it to sound self-centred, but this is exactly how The Art Bakery came to be.
My name is Agate (yes, like the stone), although some people call me Bread. BreadI’m an illustrator known online under the name Bałagat/ MessagateI love playing with styles and themes – from magical and fantastical motifs to things that are cute, cosy, and… definitely far too many cats (if such a thing as “too many cats” even exists).
The Art Bakery was born out of the need to create things that are nice, warm and soothing - such as fresh bread and butter or a sweet chocolate cake straight from the oven. Although in The Art Bakery I have my little helpers my little helpers (usually equipped with paws) I create and carry out most of the projects myself; from the very first sketch to the finished bake… I mean, product!
If you're looking for an illustrator to help bring your vision to paper (or virtual canvas), you're in the right place! I love working with your ideas and helping them take real form, whether it's a small illustration, a cover design or a larger, more elaborate project. Together we can create something interesting and original that captures the character of your vision.
I specialise in book illustrations, cover designs and creating designs for stickers, textiles and packaging. I produce both single illustrations and projects in collaboration with brands, publishers and other creatives. I approach each project individually and put all my heart and skills into it.
At no stage of my work do I use generative AI. When you work with me, you are assured that you are supporting the work of a real human being who designs and produces each illustration themselves.
